Agenda: Whaingaroa Hoe 2022. Karakia Timatanga – Sarah Harihari Open discussion around the Whaingaroa Hoe – No Comments The

Chairperson asked the question: Do we want to be having the Hoe this year?

Debbie – Can we postpone till later in the year? Amber – LDN’s is postponed. Issue is that we don’t really know what is going to happen. LDN’s is in October. So when would we hold Hoe? Weather before is marginal, after October could be too close to Christmas?

Conan – if we were to run it later in the year, running it close to that time the following year would be tricky (could be only 6 months later).

Sarah – does anyone have strong feelings about having the Hoe in May this year? Not a lot of people are prepared to carry on with the hoe without some key players (Lana, Conan, Amber).

Amber – motion forward: That we put it on the club hui agenda for December to plan the race for 2023 and there will be no Hoe this year. Seconded by Helen.

Club whaanau day – Lana and Conan 2nd of April would be a good tide and good timing with school holidays. Some new whaanau have joined, some committed kids. Would be an end of season event for the rangatahi and can combine with the whole club.

Request for people to put their hand up to help with this day.

Suggestion: split the day? Kids in the morning, adults later?

Budget – club to supply sausages etc up to $500. Not a target but should we approve this amount so we don’t have to revisit and reimburse? Helen put forward a motion for up to $500 for whaanau day approved should we need it. Seconded by Conan. We need to let WANZ know that we can host the race under the current settings. Helen to catch up with Jo about finance software Conan – encouraging others to come and help coach kids. Conan could help develop some more coaches. Karakia whakamutunga – Sarah
